This course is for you if...

  • you're interested in diversity and inclusion and you want to turn that interest into impact

  • you have unlimited ambition for your diversity and inclusion initiative but limited time and resources

  • you're looking to get more buy-in from senior management

  • you feel like you have 101 initiatives on the go but you're not seeing the change you hoped for

Our resources may be limited

but that doesn't mean our ambition should be

I don't know you personally (yet) but I'm going to guess you are facing high expectations with limited resources. Your company may or may not be aware they have a problem with D&I at this point. They have appointed you to create change but they do not really want to change anything. They have given you a list of 101 problems (retention, recruitment, representation, oh my) and are expecting you to find solutions in your spare time using a paperclip, a post-it note and a printer that's out of ink! Okay not literally but you get what I mean. Trust me, I have been there and done that, and it is not pretty or effective. But thankfully I know what is effective and that my friend is exactly what I have included in this course. Just because our resources are limited, it doesn't mean our ambition should be. Over my 20 year career I have learnt to create success on a shoestring and I'm sharing with you my secret shortcut to success. Specifically, in this course I walk you through the three steps you absolutely need to do to turn your intention into impact: Clarifying your WHY for D&I, Creating SMARTER goals and Choosing the right initiatives to help you achieve your goals.

What's included in this course

  • Your return on investment

Time is one of our most precious resources. I value your time and your commitment to D&I which is why this course is full of value. This course will save you time my friend. Think of this as your shortcut to impact. What's more you can complete the course in your own time and return to it time and time again.

  • The Impact Model

You will not only have access to this unique model but you will be able to plot your own personal D&I starting point and understand where your D&I initiatives lie so you can identify what steps to take next to leverage more impact.

  • Original resources

Even though this is a short course it is crammed full of useful resources. Within the three modules you'll find 10 video lessons and additional practical resources to help you implement the steps including guides to terminology, an introduction to initiatives commonly used, and a guide to creating inclusive meetings, how to formulate your WHY for D&I and how to create SMARTER goals.

  • Certificate upon completion

Completing this online course will increase your diversity and inclusion knowledge and develop your skills, so let's celebrate that. Share your completion certificate as evidence of your commitment to making a positive impact in D&I

Frequently asked questions

  • Do I need to be in an official diversity and inclusion role within my organisation?

No! You could be the CEO of the stationary cupboard or the CEO of a multi-national. This course is all about leveraging who you are, where you are and what you do, so you can have impact regardless of your role.

  • Do I need to have experience in developing diversity and inclusion programmes before I start the course?

No! You will get as much out of this course if it's you have 101 initiatives on the go or you're looking to develop your first one.

  • What do you mean by a D&I initiative?

There's lots of ways individuals and organisations try to influence diversity and inclusion. Common initiatives are the development of employee groups, training (like unconscious bias training), the creation of a D&I calendar of events and talks, creating targets for recruitment or promotion of minority groups...In this course we don't cover strategies or the creation of a roadmap (we cover that in other courses, for example our 'DIVE IN' or 'Making Waves' course), in this introductory course we focus on the impact an individual initiative can have.

  • Will this course help me create initiatives?

No, at least not directly. We use lots of different examples of different initiatives throughout the course but if you're looking for support creating initiatives specifically you should try our 'DIVE IN' course which includes one to one coaching support with me.

  • I'm just starting out in diversity and inclusion work and I find the terminology sometimes confusing. What level of general D&I knowledge do I need before I start this course?

I've been working in this space for decades and I still find the terminology confusing! The language we use in this space is continuously evolving and as I always say, every day is a school day! So fear not you don't need any level of prior knowledge we include lots of free resources within the course such as guides to terminology.
